Private: With this cover, you have cover for costs up to 200 percent of the medical aid rate for consultation with GPs or specialists. There is ward fee cover up to 100 percent of the medical aid rate.

If you need to undergo an MRI or CT scan as part of your in-hospital treatment, there is cover for these too, up to a limit of 100% of the cost or the medical aid rate; whichever is lower. If you are prescribed any medication during your treatment in the hospital, this will be covered fully to the legislated cost.
This is not all; this plan caters for pathology services, psychiatric treatment as well as internal or external prosthetics. You also get cover for pain relief medicine to a certain extent and basic dentistry cover. Procedures covered under basic dentistry include removal of impacted wisdom teeth. Dental treatment is limited to one visit per beneficiary per year.
Pain relief medicines, blood transfusion, and dialysis are also covered to 100% of the medical rate.
Comprehensive medical plan: Genesis total cover caters for both in-hospital costs as well as outpatient treatment.
