What is the Ingwe Option?

  1. First and foremost, the Ingwe Option gives you access to ANY private hospital or daycare facility in South Africa.
  2. Secondly, the Ingwe Option gives you UNLIMITED visits to any network GP. Your Ingwe Active Primary Care Network doctor is there to prescribe medicine, blood tests and X-rays.
  3. Thirdly, unlike many other medical schemes, the Ingwe Option gives you access to both dentists and optometrists.
  4. Fourthly, you have access to UNLIMITED NetCare 911 emergency transport.

What is a Network doctor?

Phrases like network doctors, hospitals and specialists get bandied about but how many people actually understand what that means?
It’s simple, really.
Medical schemes all have what they call Network Service Providers (NSPs).
These are doctors, specialists and hospitals that agree to operate as NSPs for specific medical aid companies.
Momentum’s Ingwe medical aid is no different.
Restrict your medical needs to NSPs and you stay within the limitations stipulated in your medical contract.
This will save you money.

What if I don’t want to use a NSP?

You don’t have to use a NSP if you don’t want to.

But you will have to pay the first R100 towards the cost of the consultation.

Also, you are restricted to only one visit per annum.

You will also have to obtain authorisation within three days of the visit.
