Selfmed Medical Aid is Simple and
Sincere
Selfmed Medical Aid
began in 1965, and then registered formally on 19 November 1974. It is one of few medical aid schemes that joined
the Ethics Institute of South Africa, a body that monitors and regulates ethics. Their goal is to provide medical
cover in a simplistic and sincere manner.
Additional benefits offered to Selfmed medical aid members on all three plans
are:
·
Emergency transport is unlimited where ER24 services are used in South Africa,
Lesotho and Swaziland.
·
CT scans and MRI scans are paid from major medical
benefits.
·
Medicine received when discharged from the hospital is paid by the medical
aid.
·
Pregnancy and birth benefits are generous.
·
Procedures such as colonoscopies, gastroscopies, and laser tonsillectomies are paid
when done in the hospital or out of the hospital. Co-payments could possibly apply.
·
Rehabilitation and home nursing have unlimited benefits. Prior approval is
required.
