Oneplan health plan benefits
This plan covers you for casualty or outpatient treatment of various forms. Basically treatment that doesn’t necessitate an overnight stay in hospital.
This includes emergency treatment of any kind. You will also be covered for treatment that does require hospitalisation.
Your plan will cover you for various kinds of dental treatment including fillings, extractions, root canals and dentures. If your treatment necessitates an x-ray and this is done in the dentist’s clinic, this will be covered by your Oneplan health plan as well. However, non-essential procedures like putting in gold inlays or gum guards will not be covered by the plan- you will have to cater for these out of pocket.
This plan cares for most of the medical expenses related to childbirth. It will cover procedures both before and during the birth of your child. Among the childbirth-related items taken care of by the Oneplan health plan are: gynaecologist or midwife consultation visits, sonar scans during these visits in the gynaecologist’s clinic. The delivery procedure itself will be covered even if it takes place at home with a midwife. If delivery requires a Caesarean section, this will also be catered for.
What the Oneplan health plan doesn’t cover
Your health plan won’t cater for:
· Medication for chronic conditions you had before the first three months of the policy.
· Over-the-counter medications or nutritional supplements
· Fertility, sperm count tests and infertility treatment
· DNA tests
· Sunglasses and decorative lenses that are not designed to correct vision
· Mental conditions, psychiatric disorders,
· Treatment for a work-related injury or illness which is already covered by your workers’ compensation policy.
· Self-inflicted injury or injuries incurred during professional sports are not covered.
· Dietician consultations, even if they are connected with maternal care, are not covered in the plan.
After you take up the Oneplan Health Insurance option, there will be a waiting period for different kinds of treatment before you can be treated under the policy. For GP consultations, this will be 30 days while for optometry it will be 12 months.
