Resolution Health Medical Aid
As one of the ten largest medical aids in South
Africa, the Resolution Health Medical Aid offers some of the most affordable plans. In contrast with some other
schemes, Resolution offers only five plans.
They believe in keeping things simple and
straightforward. Their plans are easy to understand and for an entry level plan they charge from just under a
thousand rand for a single member and just over two thousand five hundred rand for a family of four
people.
The scheme offers all its members access to a
special wellness and loyalty program which is called Zurreal4life. Zurreal4life is not part of the medical scheme
but it is available to members free of charge.
How to choose the best plan
Most people find it very difficult to choose the
best possible medical aid plan. The terms and conditions of the various plans differ wildly and it is not easy to
compare the benefits of different plans against the monthly premium charged. However, here are a few pointers that
may make it easier:
- All schemes have websites that offer
information about their various plans. In most cases it is possible to contact the scheme in order to ask
questions or to clarify uncertainties. Many schemes also offer online self-assessment tools that can help in
determining the needs of the family.
- There are also independent websites that can
provide users with several medical aid quotes without having to provide the same personal information over and
over again.
- It may be useful to ask advice from an
independent medical broker. Brokers that are not affiliated with any specific scheme are often able to provide
objective advice and will propose a plan that will suit the needs of the prospective member and that will be
affordable too.
- It is very important to carefully study the
terms and conditions of plans under consideration. If there are uncertainties, the scheme should be approached
for clarification.
- Take a very careful look at the available
budget. Many people opt for cheaper plans because they think that they cannot afford more comprehensive cover.
However, in many cases, a better plan is most certainly affordable if expenses in other areas are cut. Good
health is the most important asset anybody can possess and better medical cover is surely more important than a
luxury annual holiday, for example!
The plans offered by Resolution
The scheme’s five plans are as
follows:
- Hospital
Plan. This plan is straight forward
and provides cover for treatment in hospital only. It does not make provision for day-to-day medical expenses.
It is affordable and the best option for people that are generally healthy but that nevertheless need to make
provision for emergencies.
- The Progressive Flex
Plan. This plan aims to balance
in-hospital cover with out-of-hospital benefits. It is a good choice for young families that do not have a
history of chronic conditions.
- The Classic
Plan. Members of this plan enjoy
comprehensive cover for day-to-day medical expenses and unlimited hospitalization
benefits.
- The Supreme
Plan. This plan is ideal for people
that suffer from chronic conditions and that need medical treatment on a regular
basis.
- The Millennium
Plan. This plan is designed for people
that have very high day-to-day medical expenses. Members manage these expenses with a medical savings account.
The plan also includes unlimited hospital cover.
Resolution Health medical aid believes that plans
should be easy to understand and that members should enjoy the maximum benefits that they can afford. The
scheme is financially sound and has been serving South Africans for many years. © Medical Aid
